SESSION 6 - Living or inert beings? (FINAL)
SESSION 6 - Living or inert beings?
Today's class will consist of answering different questions in groups using QRs that will be distributed around the courtyard.
Message from European Commission:
"Good morning! At the European Commission, we are very proud of your great work. Your collaboration is very important for the success of all the projects in which you are involved.
In addition to studying living beings, we are also dealing with beings that do not fulfill the fundamental characteristics of life, i.e., they are not composed of cells and do not carry out vital functions such as feeding, reproducing and interacting. These are inert beings.
To facilitate the identification of these beings, we invite you to go to the playground, locate the various QR codes that are found and answer the questions associated with each of them. This exercise will help you understand them better. Thank you for your commitment and dedication!"
The objectives to work on this session are:
- 2.3 Distinguish and know the natural environment.
-3.2 Differentiate between living and inert beings.
-3.3 Know the need of living beings.
This session will last one hour. In the first 10-15 minutes, the teacher will play the message of the day from the European Commission, solve any doubts and the class will be divided into the 5 groups already formed for the previous classes. Then the class will go down to the playground and the different groups will start looking for the QRs and answering them.
Once the teacher has given the message from the European Commission to the children, she will explain the activity, which consists of the children leaving the classroom. For this different session, the children will do a gymkhana in the school yard in search of QR codes hidden in different places. The teacher will give them a map of the playground in which the places where the QR are hidden are specified so they can orient themselves and find them.
The groups will be the same ones they have worked on from now on, that is, the five initial groups. Each group is given a digital device with which they can scan the QRs, which a group member is in charge of. The children will answer the question in the space left in the QR so that the teacher can see it later.
The map that will be given to the children will be something like this:
The QRs that will be used are the following ones, you should scan them.
Evaluation
There will be two evaluation instruments. On the one hand, while the students respond in groups to the QRs, the teacher will observe and evaluate through a rubric the degree of participation of each child in the activity. The rubric to be used is the following:
