SESSION 5 - Each animal in its place

Today's lesson will deal with the different animal habitats and will be covered with different activities: virtual reality goggles, creating a joint mural and relating habitats and animals through an app.

Message from European Commission:

"Hello boys and girls, we saw your videos about the climate change, we will use your innovative ideas to raise awareness in society. Today we have prepared an activity to differentiated the different animals and their habitats, with this glasses of virtual reality you will have to decide in which habitat has relation the animal. Then, in groups, you will have different activity will the other groups are with the virtual glasses"

The objectives to work on this session are:

    - 2.1. Classify animals according to their natural habitat. 

    - 2.2. Identify the different types of animals and their characteristics. 

    - 2.3. Distinguish and understand different habitats.

This activity will be developed in one hour. In the first 15 minutes the teacher will present the message from the European Commission, explain what the activity consists of and the content of this session. Afterwards, the groups will rotate through the different activities every 15 minutes.

LESSON 5 

To begin, during the first 15 minutes the teacher will show a video explaining what a habitat is, the different habitats there are, the animals that live in each of them and their main characteristics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yMvMxVgfOI). The teacher will also explain how the activity will be developed and will divide the class into 3 groups. This will be done in this way so that all students can work on the different activities proposed. In order for everyone to have the same opportunity, they will rotate every 15 minutes. 

Although during the whole learning situation they will work in 5 groups, in this session 3 larger groups will be created. To create them we will take into account the information obtained in the initial evaluation they did in class 1 about previous knowledge. The results of each student in the previous classes will also be taken into account. 

Once the first 15 minutes have passed, they will start with the activities.

Evaluation

In this session only the virtual reality goggles part will be evaluated using software. For the evaluation of this activity we will use a software of IT3D Group. The software is about a free editable situation where the teacher can develop all the possible scenarios and create an avatar for each child. 

The software implement an evaluation method where the score is the number of correct answer that the children get in the virtual reality through the virtual glasses. Also, the software permit us to enter  unlimited number of child, having a well instruction for the child's.
