Learning situation (FINAL)

Today we settled the justification and the learning situation of our didactic unit:

Life on our planet is a didactic unit through which children must be able to identify and internalize the different elements that make up ecosystems, their characteristics, the animals that constitute it and its main characteristics, fauna and flora, the role of the human being in the ecosystem, etc. On the other hand, we will also work on the basic needs of living beings and the difference between living and inert objects.

This didactic unit will have a duration of seven hours, 1 hour per lesson, we will work the contents previously proposed with activities and didactic material to get the objectives and ensure that students develop the skills and abilities at the end of the didactic unit.

Referring to evaluation, will be carried out progressively through observation and instruments that will allow monitoring of student learning.

This is the justification of our didactic unit:

METHODOLOGY

Heuristic Method: Discovery learning

The objective of placing our students in the European Commission is given by the basic principles of this methodology that we have chosen, it is based on the fact that the children find that there is a problem and have to reason, seek information and propose solutions. Thanks to this, it helps us as teachers to facilitate the class sessions and, above all, the students so that they can situate themselves in it, not having to meet in a strange and abstract situation.

Discovery learning is also a heuristic method by which students engage in problem solving to develop their knowledge or skills. With discovery, the learning must be planned, it must be supervised and it must follow the scientific method of research.

Discovery learning can take place at each of the three levels of problem solving . At Level 1, discovery learning is carefully structured (guided discovery); at Level 2, a moderate amount of guidance is administered (modified discovery); and at Level 3, students’ problem-solving activities are very casually supervised (open discovery).
