SESSION 3- Actions against climate change

In this case, an activity will be carried out so that the children become aware of the contributions that they also can make to contribute to the improvement of climate change. For this session, the European Commission will meet to answer the following question: Why has climate change increased in recent years? What intervention measures do you propose to reduce the problem?

The objectives to work on in this session are: 

    - 1.1 Implement norms of citizen coexistence. 

    - 1.2 Become aware of climate change, its importance and impact on society. 

    - 1.3 Know the role of human beings and the environment.

This third session will last 2 hours. In the first hour, the teacher will provide resources and materials so that students can work with the information what is found in these materials. Then, in their house, they have to record a video expressing their point of view about the issue. Once this is done, in the second class, there will be a debate so each student manifest their opinion.

ACTIVITY

Firstly, students will receive an explanation about how to search for information on the internet so that they can get informed about the topic they are going to treat. For doing these, the teacher will provide a series of tips for doing it:

-Use a safe search engine

-Think about your topic

-Using keywords

-Firsts results are not always the best ones

-Read and take notes

-Citation and reference

-Verify sources of information

-Ask for help



For the next activity we will use the flip app, that consist on free and online web where the teachers can create differents groups having access to videos, texts and audios for each student to express their ideas. For more information click here

Then, they will be grouped into groups of four people. They will search information together taking into consideration the previous tips that the teacher has given. Each student must read the texts individually, and then share the causes and her opinion on Flip app and debate on the app during 1 week. 

Then, they will record a video individually in their houses expressing their opinion about the information they have collect, next they must reach a conclusion and as a result of this each one must propose possible improvements to reduce climate change in the second session. Once they have done that, the next class session will be dedicated to debate in class the opinions of all. 

Finally, each group must write an essay that contains all the information that contains their conclusions on the subject and deliver it to the teacher at the end of the session.
